Actor Ruby Rose landed the iconic role of Batwoman, one of DC Comics’ foremost LGBTI superheroes, for TV network The CW.
The character will first appear this fall in the CW’s annual superhero crossover for their Arrowverse universe. This shared universe includes the shows Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow.
The network is also developing a potential solo series for Batwoman. If it goes, Rose will have the honor of being the first actor to headline a gay superhero show.
Rose is an Australian model and DJ, who first gained fame with international audiences with her role as Stella on Orange Is the New Black.
