TV: Heartstopper’s Joe Locke Cast in new Marvel Series

Heartstopper star Joe Locke has reportedly been cast in an unspecified role alongside Kathryn Hahn in new Marvel TV series, Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Locke, who shot to fame as Charlie Spring in queer coming-of-age series Heartstopper, is rumoured to be playing one of Wanda Maximoff’s sons, Billy Kaplan / Wiccan, who is gay in Marvel source material – though this is unconfirmed. As reported by Variety, reps for Locke declined to comment. Wiccan has various magical abilities, and a younger version of the character has already been played in the MCU by Julian Hilliard. It’s a Gay Marvel Superhero Wedding!

Marvel has decided to give the gays everything they want by featuring its first ever same-sex wedding between two gay superheroes in a new comic. In Empyre #4, it was finally confirmed that Young Avengers co-founders and superheroes Hulkling and Wiccan are married. Wiccan (William “Billy” Kaplan) and Hulkling (Theodore “Teddy” Altman) are revealed to be married on the final page of Empyre #4 in a flashback to a ceremony attended by other Young Avengers, Bleeding Cool reports.
