Fantastic Beasts trailer

JK Rowling may have confirmed Professor Dumbledore’s sexuality, yet the wizard has so far never been portrayed as gay on film. That is, until now, if the trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is anything to go by. In newly released scenes, we see Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) gazing into what appears to be the Mirror of Erised. His reflection reveals Gillert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) hovering behind him. Rowling confirmed in 2007 that the fictional headmaster of Hogwarts is gay, and that ‘his love for Grindelwald was his “great tragedy”. By Chris Nelson – Full Story at Gay … Read more

TV: The Sense8 Series Finale Trailer is Here!

Sense8 Trailer

The Wachowskis’ sci-fi Netflix thriller series Sense8, which drew plaudits and admirers for its diverse line-up of characters that featured multiple LGBTQ roles, had a near-death experience not unlike those its protagonists often faced when the streaming media provider announced its abrupt cancellation in early June of this year after just two seasons. The show’s passionate fan base responded with an ultimately effective outcry on social media, seeking explanations for the cancellation and urging a change of heart given the scarcity of diverse representation in the genre of the sort that earned Sense8 the 2016 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding … Read more

Netflix’s Lost In Space

Netflix has released the trailer for its reboot of Lost in Space, based on the 1960s TV series of the same name about a family of space colonists who veer off course and crash-land on an alien planet. The series has been reimagined twice before: once as a TV pilot in 2003 that never saw the air, and then as a much-maligned movie remake starring Matt LeBlanc of Friends fame. A middling success when it first aired, the original Lost in Space has become a cult classic in sci-fi communities, renowned for its campy ambition. Netflix’s reboot, however, looks to … Read more

Secretly the child of Scott Summers (Cyclops) and the Phoenix (Jean Grey), Cable is set to be a hilarious foil for the quippy anti-hero played by Ryan Reynolds. Fitting the fourth-wall breaking of the first film, Deadpool throws some major shade at DC. ‘Why are the visual effects not done? It’s a metal arm! It’s not like we’re trying to remove a mustache!’ he says. This is in reference to the poor attempts to remove Henry Cavil’s mustache … Read more

Starring Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer, the film delicately depicts a summer love affair between a 17-year-old and twentysomething during a vacation in Italy. However, for all the critical acclaim heaped upon the movie, we know some people find it a little… well, arty.
