As fans gear up for the highly-anticipated shooter game, it has emerged that one of its vault hunters does not fit into the gender binary. Ahead of its September 13 release date, eagle-eyed fans have picked up on gender-neutral pronouns and allusions to an LGBT+ identity in the sequel’s description description. “An emergent AI driven in an ongoing quest for self-discovery, FL4K wanders from world to world accompanied by beasts. Fans of the Cartoon Network show Steven Universe already know that it’s one of the queerest kids’ cartoon series ever. But it’s getting even queerer now that its creators have revealed that a major character, Stevonnie, is both intersex and non-binary. In a recent public service announcement (PSA) on Cartoon Network’s Instagram, Stevonnie flips through their own Instagram while discussing positivity and negativity on social media. The Sims 4 has debuted its first stock character who is gender non-confirming as part of its new ‘Island Living’ expansion pack. Released on Friday (June 21), ‘Island Living’ introduces Lia Hauata, the first pre-made character without a binary gender identity. YouTuber Lilsimsie shared a glimpse at the character’s ‘Create a Sim’ settings, which show Lia to have a “masculine” physical frame and a “feminine” clothing preference.
