About The Book

Blood runs deep in Jemez Springs.

Psychic cougar shifter Connor McGriffin is used to his visions leading him around. For years, he’s followed them back and forth across the country to the people who need his help. When his comfortable vacation in the mountains is interrupted by a vision of a woman dying, he can’t see enough details to find the killer and stop him from striking again. Facing the most dangerous foe he’s ever dealt with, Connor needs all the help he can get.

Small town deputy and wolf shifter, Danny Lupan is getting bored of chasing speeders and the occasional drug dealer. When the call comes that Sandoval County has its first murder in years, and it happened in his jurisdiction, he jumps at the chance to find the killer, no matter the danger involved. Little does he know, he might lose his heart, his life, or maybe both.
When a cougar and a wolf join forces, the bad guys better watch out, because the fur’s going to fly, in more ways than one.

Join Connor and Danny on their first adventure together in the start of the fast-paced, suspenseful thriller series Shifter Force.

The Review

Visions Of Rage is the first book in the ‘Shifter Force” series. Connor McGriffin is a very strong psychic, working as a law enforcement consultant. He is used to pre-judgment and open rejection since Connor McGriffin is not only a psychic but also a shapeshifter. Even though humankind got used to having them living among them, some people are still suspicious. Connor is somewhat a loner, as a cougar shape-shifter.

After a particularly difficult case, he was recommended to get some rest. He rented a mountain cabin in Jemez Springs. When a vision of murder hits him with mighty force he knows, vacation or not, he cannot just let that happen; he needs help to find the killer. Connor informs the local sheriff and meets the town deputy, Danny Lupan, whom he will work together with on that case.

Even though normally wolf shifters and cat shifters don’t get along too well, these two guys are fascinated by each other. Gay shapeshifters are quite rare, after all, and even if Danny and Connor tease each other, they work formidably together on the case.

I usually pick one of the characters as my favorite. Occasionally I admit, my favorite character is not the protagonist… this book made it impossible for me to choose between the two protagonists. I love them both!

Connor McGriffin is a strong, helpful and empathic puma-shifter, involved with difficult cases within law enforcement. He is also single, caring, loving and giving. Even though the strength of his character and nature can make him act bossy and demanding, he still has a great golden heart and a lot of love to give.

Danny Lupan is a Native American wolf-shifter, a part of a pack. He is funny, humorous, caring, and keeps things low key, even though he’s got a strong personality and a healthy self-consciousness. He’s not scared to tell Connor off if necessary.

The story circles around the crime and is slowly build up. A serial killer is threatening to target more victims, followed by Connor, Danny and a ‘flock’ of very supportive and understanding helpers. I even fell in love with these characters. Police Chief Kennedy in Santa Fe, Sherriff Calloway (Rusty), Danny’s boss. Jeri, Danny’s partner, and Lisa, Connor’s partner. They all are unique characters who are quite able to stand their ground and add a lot to the story.

With this book, A. M. Burns and A. T. Weaver started an exceptional series. With this first book, they created a strong base for more cases around Connor, Danny and their relationship. I enjoyed the book immensely, and I could barely put it down. It’s a true page-turner. Well done! I can barely wait to get the next book in the series into my hands.

  1. Thank you for the wonderful review. You made my day.

I’m glad you love Connor and Danny as much as I do. I think that no matter how many more books I writer, they will always be my favorite characters.
