About The Book
The hard thing about Night Shift is when you realize werewolves are bad news, but people can be worse.
After Night Shift officer Kit Marlow solved the murder of child star Haley Jenkins, he figured he was due a little down time. Maybe even a dinner date with Cade Deacon, the sarcastic security consultant, very good kisser, and werewolf who’d helped with the investigation.
That was before someone in a Night Shift uniform drove them both off the road. With the full moon up the only dinner date Cade is interested in…has Marlow served up on a plate. And not in a sexy way.
It’s the second time that corrupt Night Shift officers have tried to kill Marlow. If he has his way, it will be the last. Problem is he only has twenty-eight days before the next full moon. If he hasn’t identified who wants him dead by then, he’ll have to take to werewolf filled streets with a team at his back he can’t trust.
First things first, though. Get through the next twelve hours alive and uneaten, and hope that if a second date is still on the cards it’s less eventful.
The Review
Once the full moon takes over, what’s a werewolf to do when he can’t remember who he ate the night before?
How does a null and officer of the Night Shift outrun a very familiar werewolf who want’s to kill him?
Cade and Marlowe are still trying to find out what connections corrupt cop Ned Piper has outside the prison walls. After all, Piper has already tried to kill Marlowe! Cade put’s his younger brother Lem back on the trail to dig deeper into Piper’s history.
Can they find out who’s trying to kill Marlowe? Is Cade being set-up to kill him? Is there still corruption inside the Night Shift? Who can be trusted?
Out on a Night Shift assignment that Marlowe knows he shouldn’t have taken, he finds himself in a dangerous predicament, and now he’s on the run.
TA Moore doesn’t miss a beat with “Split Shift,” and picks up the explosive excitement right where “Shift Work” left off with Cade Deacon and Kit Marlowe.
Moore brings her kind of crazy, exciting talent to this fast-paced, loads of action and gore quick read, crafting a real page-turner! It’s not without its flirtatious, snarky and steamy moments, and the odd chemistry between Cade Deacon and Kit Marlowe.
Cade starts to show his soft side to Marlowe. Marlowe too, has regrets about what he had to do to Cade. Lem is back as well, and brings lots of fun with the brotherly banter between him and Cade.
I know there might be complaints that “this story is too short” and “I hate cliffhangers,” but I loved it. “Night Shift” is a must read paranormal series. The first book “Shift Work” was exciting, but “Split Shift” is even better! Can’t wait to see what hoops Moore will make Cade and Marlowe jump through as Marlowe goes on the run in book three.

Hi, I’m Maryann, I started life in New York, moved to New Hampshire and in 1965 uprooted again to Sacramento, California. Once I retired I moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 2011 and just moved back to Sacramento in March of 2018. My son, his wife and step-daughter flew out to Florida and we road tripped back so they got to see sights they have never seen. New Orleans and the Grand Canyon were the highlights. Now I am back on the west coast again to stay! From a young age Ialways liked to read.
I remember going to the library and reading the “Doctor Dolittle” books by Hugh Lofting. Much later on became a big fan of the classics, Edgar Alan Poe, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker and as time went by Agatha Christie, Ray Bradbury and Stephen Kingand many other authors.
My first M/M shifter book I read was written by Jan Irving the “Uncommon Cowboys” series from 2012. She was the first author I ever contacted and sent an email to letting her know how much I liked this series. Sometime along the way I read “Zero to the Bone”by Jane Seville, I think just about everyone has read this book!
As it stands right now I’m really into mysteries, grit, gore and “triggers” don’t bother me. But if a blurb piques my interest I will read the book.
My kindle collection eclectic and over three thousand books and my Audible collection is slowly growing. I have both the kindle and audible apps on my ipod, ipads, and MAC. So there is never an excuse not to be listening or reading.
I joined Goodreads around 2012 and started posting reviews. One day a wonderful lady, Lisa Horan of The Novel Approach, sent me an email to see if I wanted to join her review group. Joining her site was such an eye opener. I got introduce to so many new authors that write for the LGBTQ genre. Needless to say, it was heart breaking when it ended.
But I found a really great site, QRI and it’s right here in Sacramento. Last year at QSAC I actually got to meet Scott Coatsworth, Amy Lane and Jeff Adams.
