About the Book:
Vincent Hudson is a vampire hunter and his life is about to be ruined.
When a hunting trip ends in tragedy, he is forced to do the unthinkable—seek refuge in Sanctuary Hope, where each family must nominate a member to the city council. It is seemingly a minor price to pay in exchange for medical aid and refuge. But it is also a dangerous trap, and unaware of the gut-wrenching reality, Vincent nominates himself to save his people.
Now a life of war awaits him. . . and captivity to a vampire master known as Maddox Caine.
This trilogy is for mature audiences only (18+) and contains scenes of graphic violence and extremely high heat that will have you flustered and swiftly turning the pages. These books are dark, raw, gritty, and not for the faint-hearted. Please read with caution.

The Review:
My views on what is considered dark are a little skewed, but this book could be on the darker side for some. There should be several trigger warnings. Light BDSM is used, and not in the fun kinky way. There is graphicdescriptions of violence, sex and non-consent. This is not a traditional love story and in no way a traditional romance. Scratch that, this is not in any way a romance.
All that being said, I absolutely loved this story. Before I knew it four hours passed, and the story ends in a cliffhanger that I wasn’t expecting and I’m craving for more. The world has been in a dystopian state for the past six years, where vampires and humans struggle to get along. Vincent is a Dust Hunter, and leader of a small group (40 people) in Utah just outside of Sanctuary Hope, which Maddox is the Governor and Founder of. I was completely engrossed in Vincent life and how he reacted to what was happening not only to him, but also the people he loved. So, when the tragic and horrific actions that bring the two men together happens it cut deep into my heart.
Feeling like he had no other choice to save his people, Vincent volunteers himself to the “nobles” who run Sanctuary Hope. “My, my, my. You are such a skittish little kitten, aren’t you?
Maddox would have to go easy on his hunter, or else the wolf and fox would never learn to play.”The author does a great job in describing vivid scenes. I could almost smell the sweat, tears and dirt. Vincent’s pain and anger are real and raw. The rare moments when Maddox lets his guard down, his emotions just bleed off the page.
I hope Vincent and Maddox will eventually come to a mutual understanding and respect for each other that will grow to love. Until this happens (if it happens), I’ll continue to enjoy the battles against the two strong and stubborn men.
I’m excited for the next story and I hope I don’t have to wait too long.
