About The Book

(Beginnings Book Six)

Just days after the Agency raided the headquarters of the Knights, an organization that killed, tortured, and experimented on shifters, Chief Anu sends Agent Poe on assignment: find Nordik, the powerful master bear shifter who guards Sanctuary, and offer alliance. Agent Poe already has his hands full with shifters who need help and a kidnapped agent who needs rescue. Poe has never failed a mission, but he finds members of the Knights inside Sanctuary, raising suspicions about Chief Anu.

If that wasn’t enough, Poe’s goals change again when he discovers his attraction to Nordik is one he might not be able to resist. He becomes torn between his duty to the Agency and his need for Nordik as a mate. For his part, Nordik has no intention of letting Poe slip through his fingers.

As Nordik and Poe battle wills, a new dawn is on the horizon, not only for them but for shifters, the Agency, and the world itself.

Second Edition with updated and revised text.

The Review

Master’s Blood is number six in The Shifter Chronicles series, and concerns the Knight’s hunt for Nordik – the master bear shifter and the protector of Sanctuary.

Agent Poe is also looking for Nordik against his better judgement. What he really wants to be doing is tracking down the mad wolf shifter that carried off his aide Josh (Healing Minds, The Shifter Chronicles 5). As a consequence, he’s in a really bad mood, and things do not go down well when he meets up with Nordik.

Nordik is unsettled as well, as Knights have entered his Forest – he is not a happy giant white bear.

Poe is a complicated character, and he often comes across as somewhat obnoxious and a bully. as he does here. He tells Nordik ‘you damn well will do what I tell you to do.’ It’s not as if Nordik asked him to come into his Sanctuary.

The story has some real knockabout moments, and things get very exciting and dangerous for Poe and Nordik as the Knights strike. There’s also an element of love and romance, but that’s something Poe has no time for. Or does he?

Just sit back and enjoy the ride – there are revelations in abundance, some expected and some really not, and the whole thing is a lot of fun.

The Reviewer

Tony is an Englishman living amongst the Welsh and the Other Folk in the mountains of Wales. He lives with his partner of thirty-six years, four dogs, two ponies, various birds, and his bees. He is a retired lecturer and a writer of no renown but that doesn’t stop him enjoying what he used to think of as ‘sensible’ fantasy and sf. He’s surprised to find that if the story is well written and has likeable characters undergoing the trails of life, i.e. falling in love, falling out of love, having a bit of nooky (but not all the time), fending off foes, aliens and monsters, etc., he’ll be happy as a sandperson who has just offloaded a wagon of sand at the going market price. As long as there’s a story, he’s in. He aims to write fair and honest reviews. If he finds he is not the target reader he’ll move on.
