About The Book

Cas Maine seeks refuge in the small town of Isherwood after walking all night. He’s tired, hungry, and desperate for the acceptance and safety he had in his birth pack…before they discovered he was gay. But crossing into town forces him to shift into his wolf form and he’s unable to shift back. Which is when he finds his true mate, a human named Finn Webb.

Finn thinks he’s just adopted a stray dog and feels like his life might be taking a turn for the better. Business is lousy in a town that’s drying up, but it’s home and he’s determined to stick things out for the sake of his employees. Finn has no idea that his “dog” is a man who’s going to change his life forever.

With disappearances, creepy vets, and wolves who talk, Finn and Cas have to learn how to live together while solving the trouble that’s been plaguing Isherwood for two years.

The Review

I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed reading this story. There’s something different with how Cas is unable to keep his human form when he steps into the town of Isherwood, but upon meeting his mate Finn knows he now cannot leave.

It takes meeting others in the area to get a basic understanding of what’s going on and accepting their help to meet his mate as a human. This brings us more characters to bolster the story and community feel that I got from a great group of people. Finn’s reaction to everything that happens with Cas is great but there are even more surprises in store for himself and his family that I was not expecting.

Missy has written an engaging story that I was interested in throughout and invested in the outcome for all of the characters that we met along the way. The story itself goes at a good pace, nothing rushed but also not stagnant anywhere and there’s a mystery to keep you thinking as to how shifters are forced into their animal forms in the town of Isherwood.

I’m looking forward to seeing how the series progresses for this new group of shifters and for the next couple that we get to read. I’d definitely recommend to fans of shifter stories and paranormal romance.

The Reviewer

Hello all, my name is Xanthe and I am excited to be a reviewer for the PRG.

I read a lot, every night for at least 4-5 hours and I love to get lost in the world that an author has created. The best ones leave you wanting more and at a loss for words to describe just how good it is but I’ll try my best.

I live in a small town in South West England, just me and my dog Bonnie. I work part time in administration and really enjoy my job and the people I work with which I am very aware is not always the case!

I’ll read pretty much any sub genre within the mm genre. Since discovering it a few years ago, I rarely read anything else. One thing I won’t touch is horror, a definite no no for me!

Never ask me what my favourite anything is as I’ll have to give you a list of about ten or twenty things. How am I able to pick one food, book or film out of so many that I love?!
