About The Book

A scrying stone says after his gift is destroyed, a famous songwriter will fall in love. Will the stone’s prediction come true?

Glass artist Ashton Snell is delighted when superstar singer/songwriter Hunter Davidson walks into his shop looking for a gift for a friend. On a whim Ashton looks through a scrying glass to see what’s in store for Hunter in the future. The stone shows a vision of the glass unicorn gift shattering and Hunter falling in love. Should Ashton tell Hunter what he’s seen?

Before he can decide, Hunter asks him to lunch. Ashton agrees although he’s surprised someone as celebrated as Hunter would want to be seen with him. Despite living with it since birth, Ashton is still self-conscious about his limp. Hunter, however, doesn’t seem to notice it.

Could their lunch be the beginning of a lasting friendship? Or will their attraction turn into something more?

The Review

Ashton Snell is a glass sculptor who has taken over the family business in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has health issues which affect his stamina, but has made a life for himself and has come to terms with his own limitations.

Then one day, a man walks into his shop. Hunter Davidson is fairly average, but he walks with the agility and grace of a rockstar – because he is. He buys a glass unicorn from Ashton, and the sculptor uses a scrying stone as his grandfather taught him. He has a vision – the friend Hunter plans to give the unicorn to will throw it away in a fit of anger and break it.

When Hunter asks him out to lunch, Ashton is sure the man is messing with him. But how could he say no? How often does a rockstar walk into your life and ask you out?

And so begins a dance between the two men, as Hunter navigates the end of an old relationship and Ashton tries to understand how someone so famous could ever be interested in a wreck of a man like him.

This is a delightful novella. I loved Ashton’s character and his growth throughout the story as someone who considers himself unworthy of love slowly blossoms. And Hunter has his own journey, as he opens himself up to someone who can really love him back.

A lovely romance with just a touch of magic, perfect as a cozy December read.
