QSFer James Honaker has a new queer fantasy video game out, a turn-based strategy RPG: Chronicles of Dramarith 2: The Crownless Kingdoms.
Threats emerge, new and old, and peace is shattered.
Twenty-five years after Alistair and his allies put down the threat of a mad king and the Coven of Unholy Nocturnal Terror, Lysgentel launches a surprise invasion of its neighbor, Dramarith. Led by a group calling themselves the “Lysgentel Free Republic”, a group seeking to free the continent from the hereditary rulers that have shackled it, they swiftly bring the whole of the continent under their rule, and the princess of Dramarith, Helena, escapes with her brother to a nearby island.
Helena must figure out a path forward, a path that involves undoing the damage wrought by the Lysgentel Free Republic and its tyranny. As she sets forth, though, the specter of the Coven of Unholy Nocturnal Terror looms large, a shadowy cabal seeking to plunge the world into darkness and under the dominion of great evil. Threats old and new seek to bring the lands to ruin, and Helena must find the path to free Dramarith and Lysgentel both from those who would oppress them…
Chronicles of Dramarith: The Crownless Kingdoms is a Fire Emblem-inspired strategy RPG and a sequel to my previous game, Chronicles of Dramarith: The King of Light and His Dark Heir. You do not need to have played my previous game to enjoy this one, though you may find some jokes funnier with the context of the first game. The game features over 30 playable characters across a wide range of classes and 30 chapters, following Helena’s journey to take her kingdom back from those who claimed it.
This game was built in SapphireSoft’s SRPG Studio with a mix of free-use assets and inbuilt material. It is free to download and play; no payment is necessary, though donations are appreciated!
Note: openly gay characters and explicit M/M pairings (no sex, but implied sex and queer romance); I may add in more explicit queerness as I continue to add patches.
