Hey all,
The long-awaited graphic novel week is here! Today’s topic – Superheroes:
Superheroes were long solely the province of (mostly white) heterosexuals. But that’s slowly beginning to change. Queer as Folk (the US version) famously featured Rage and JT. Saturday Night Live spoofed them with the Ambiguously Gay Duo. And we’ve had a number of other characters come out in the Marvel and DC universes.
But now we’ve got some of our own, including The Young Protectors, a great LGBT series done by the fabulous Alex Woolfson and the great illustrator Adam DeKraker – we’ll have both of them in for an interview later today.
So are you a superhero fanboy or fangirl? Do you read any of the LGBT comics or characters? Where would you like to see things go in the gay superhero world?
We have a great line up this week, including six topics and four special events:
Wednesday, August 26th:
All Day: Superheroes
3 PM PDT: Interview – Alex Woolfson and Adam DeKraker, The Young Protectors
Thursday, August 27th:
All Day: Yuri
12 PM PDT: Interview – Lily Girls – Lesbianism in Anime
Friday, August 28th:

Saturday, August 29th:
All Day: Breaking into Graphic Novels
Sunday, August 30th:
All Day: Is My Story Right for a Graphic Novel Treatment?
8 AM PDT: Interview – Arshad Ahsanuddin, Pact Arcanum – Adapting a Novel to Graphic Novel Format
It’s gonna be a great week!
