FOR WRITERS
Today’s writer topic comes from QSFer Dave Fragments:
A friend just asked me why all my stories seem to be 2000 to 2500 words? He implied: Was that a conscious limit? Was that a learned limit? My additional question would be “Why are your chapters always 1500 words or 5000 words? How does a short story or a novella or a novel divide itself into portions?
So how do you decide how long your chapters, short stories and novels will be? Or does it just sort of happen?
