FOR WRITERS
Today’s writer topic comes from QSFer Hank T. Cannon:
According to your tastes, what is the line between, “naive,” “unskilled,” “new to the world,” etc vs “too stupid to live” for characters? How does this affect your ability to enjoy a story?
I guess it depends on the variety of stupid. I adored Sumeragi Subaru, but Relena Peacecraft had me grabbing my head, crying out, “Why, why?” (rueful grin)
