FOR READERS
Today’s reader topic comes from QSFer Denise Dechene:
Do you think there is too much sex in queer romance (not talking about erotica)?

Definitely. Most relationships go way too fast for me.
When I’m reading, I usually skip sex scenes (and combat scenes), unless there’s something interesting going on at the same time.
Some of my books have plenty of sex, like the one called “Mating Flight”. I rarely give the action more than a sentence or two. I care about the [non-]romance a lot more; sex is one fuel for interpersonal relationships, but there are plenty more.
I also tend to write extremely nonhuman characters, so descriptions of genitals and activities would not be erotic for most humans.
