Attitude reports: While the reimagined romantic classic, featuring Emma Watson and former Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens, might seem like the ultimate celebration of heterosexual love, it’s actually harbouring a treasure trove of gay secrets – and is set to make history with Disney’s first ever “exclusively gay moment” on film. …Played by US actor Josh Gad, the character of LeFou serves as the sidekick to the film’s primary antagonist Gaston (Luke … Read more

Glee Actor Chris Colfer Shopping Sci Fi Drama

Chris Colfer

Chris Colfer is taking it upon himself to craft his own TV comeback. The out actor and author has teamed with Sonar Entertainment to develop a pilot for the sci-fi drama Indigo that he would write, direct and star in. ‘Very excited for this! Fingers crossed,’ Colfer wrote on Instagram Friday (17 February). Indigo would be a far cry from Colfer’s Emmy-nominated role of gay high school student Kurt Hummel on Glee. Pop-Up ‘Star Trek’ Theater

Star Trek London Tube

Space isn’t the final frontier; the London Tube is. Well, it was for a group of possibly dedicated fans who decided to boldly go where few have gone before by acting out a scene dressed in Star Trek-esque uniforms while riding the subway Wednesday. The actors got the pseudo-serious tone of the series right, but the uniforms weren’t exactly identical. Their tunics had a lightning bolt logo, not the traditional Starfleet insignia, and the patch was placed near the righthand side, not the left. What the enterprising troupe lacked in elaborate special effects, though, they made up for with sheer … Read more

CRAFTS: Build an Ikea Death Star Lamp

Death Star Lamp

Star Wars fans around the globe are turning a simple IKEA lamp into a Death Star. As far as geeky interiors go, it can be hard to hit the balance between over the top and just right. While the writer doesn’t necessarily agree with having to tone it down to appear grown up, that doesn’t mean low-key geeky additions can’t be cool. Take a lamp looking like the Death Star, for example. Iconic in itself, but still obscure enough so your granddad or auntie who’s never seen Star Wars will only think it mildly curious, but not suspicious. By Stefanie … Read more
