Two lesbians (Aidy Bryant and Kate McKinnon) adrift on the Mediterranean find themselves washed ashore at Wonder Woman’s home island of Themyscira, populated only by beautiful Amazonian women and immediately set about exploring how many of them are gay and available. Blade Runner Gets the Honest Trailer Treatment
Did you love Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner? You might want to skip Screen Junkie’s latest Honest Trailer if it ranks high up in your all-time favorite sci-fi flicks. This is not a spoiler alert as much it is a warning to fans of the series that want to keep this sci-fi masterpiece just the way they remember it. “This ain’t your daddy’s bright and shiny sci-fi,” Honest Trailers narrator Jon Baily jokes. TV: Russell Tovey to Play Gay Hero “The Ray” on CW Crossover
The CW is planning a four-part crossover series of its Arrow-verse this fall, airing on November 27 and 28, and they’ve tapped out actor Russell Tovey to play gay superhero The Ray. Additionally, Tovey will voice the character on the animated series based on the character which was announced in July. EW reports: The Ray first appeared in a 1973 issue of Justice League of America; the animated series’ Ray will be closer to the version of the character in DC’s Multiversity series, which updated the Freedom Fighters to look more like current-day Americans. DC Comics Honored For Queer Inclusivity
Queer superheroes like Batwoman are earning DC Entertainment, one of the largest comic book and superhero entities, a prestigious award. GLSEN, the national organization championing LGBTI students and issues in K-12, is giving its Visionary Award to DC. The award will be presented at the GLSEN Respect Awards on 20 October at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. The award ceremony began in 2004 and honors individuals and corporations who have made a significant impact on youth in the community. Fans: Show Wonder Woman’s Bisexuality in Next Film
“Wonder Woman” fans want the upcoming sequel to honor canon and make the Amazonian warrior princess bisexual. Writer Greg Rucka confirmed that the Amazons of Themyscira engage in same-sex relationships in the comics. Gianna Collier-Pitts, GLAAD Campus Ambassador at New York University, penned the petition asking for that bisexual representation to be included in the films. “We are oversexualized and underrepresented.
