FILM: Will PG Version of Deadpool 2 Erase Lesbian Relationship?

The producers of Deadpool 2 have announced that an edited PG-13 version of the film will be released, casting doubt over whether it will include the movie’s groundbreaking lesbian relationship. Fans praised the second installation of Deadpool earlier this year for introducing Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna), the girlfriend of Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand). Entertainment website Deadline has reported that 20th Century Fox will release a PG-13 film called Once Upon A Deadpool in cinemas from December 12 to Christmas Eve. “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” almost included a lesbian scene featuring lesbian paleo-veterinarian Dr. Zia Rodriguez (Daniella Pineda) but the scene was cut from the film. “Wonder Woman 1984,” the highly anticipated sequel to “Wonder Woman,” will have a longer wait for the big screen. Gal Gadot revealed that the film has been pushed back seven months from its original date of Nov. 1, 2019. The gender-fluid Orange is the New Black star is set to make her debut as lesbian superhero Batwoman in The CW superhero universe in December. Netflix is coming out with a dark take on Sabrina the Teenage Witch this fall. Not only that, it also has some very welcome diversity, such as a pansexual cousin named Ambrose Spellman. The new series, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
