Unless you’ve you been living under a rock — or illegally detained in a small, poorly lit holding cell by a lying government who know way more than it’s telling us — you know about the upcoming return of The X-Files on Fox on January 24th. It’s a “thrilling, six-episode event series” from creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as “iconic FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully”. ALso returning: Mitch Pileggi (Mulder’s and Scully’s boss, Walter Skinner) and William B. Davis, who reprises his role as “Cigarette Smoking Man”.
The upcoming event series is said to encompass a mixture of stand-alone episodes and those that further the original show’s seminal mythology. In the opening episode, Mulder and Scully take on a case of a possible alien abductee. (Surprise!)
