QSFer Cheyenne Meadows has a new GENRE book out:
With his brother away at a conference, alpha wolf shifter Shadow finds himself paired with IT analyst Mace, the one man he can’t stand. Stuck with the partnership due to his pack leader’s order, Shadow can only count down the days until his life returns to normal. He’s a loner. Period. No matter how much his inner beast protests.
Mace isn’t thrilled either, but can’t resist the temptation to push all the surly alpha’s buttons, even as he fantasizes about what could be. Flirting with danger, he’s determined to make the best of the situation, if he can only get Shadow to give in to both their desires.
Unfortunately, a twisted revenge-seeker has other plans. A series of events rocks the entire pack, leaving innocent people hurt and fear running rampant. Both men are thrust into the chaos, working tirelessly to track down the culprit before someone winds up dead. The pressure of trying to stay a jump ahead, with absolutely no clues, pushes them to the brink. Add in a burning hunger for each other, and their world begins to crumble around them. With no other choice, they have to trust and depend on one another in order to have a chance at solving the mystery and saving lives.
Excerpt
“Look what the cat dragged in.” Mace dropped his foot from the porch railing, then stood up. His eyes raked the approaching man with interest and appreciation. Shadow could pose for magazine covers if he so desired. With his large frame, thick muscles, and handsome looks, he’d be a shoo-in for Hollywood. Short black hair topped his head. Matching black eyes reflected his emotions now and again. In Mace’s experience, mainly anger. Wide shoulders flowed into a big chest then poured into a narrow waist, flat stomach, and powerful thighs. The man possessed an ass that wouldn’t quit and an intriguing bulge in the front of his tight jeans. Mace barely refrained from licking his lips.
“Haven’t you heard? We’re partners attached at the hip. A team. BFFs.” He forced a bored expression on his face and waited for the fireworks to begin. He didn’t have to wait long.
“Listen, you cocky bastard, I may be stuck with you for a few days, but that doesn’t mean I can’t rub your nose in the dirt.”
Oh, yeah. Jonas’s orders went over well with Shadow. Not. As much as Mace wanted to chuckle at the dark-haired man’s crankiness, he preferred his head to remain on his neck. He’d push all of Shadow’s buttons with relish, but knew when to back off to avoid getting his ass whooped. A skill learned over time with the taciturn alpha. Besides, what fun was riling Shadow if he couldn’t stick around and watch the man simmer?

Author Bio
Growing up in the Midwest, I began reading romance novels in high school, immediately falling in love with the genre, to the point where I decided to write professionally for a career. However, that dream splattered against a brick wall, resulting in a quick death in my first writing class in college when my professor told me bluntly that I wasn’t any good at it. I shifted gears quickly, and left my writing dreams behind, eventually settling on becoming a nurse.
A few years back, I stumbled across a fan-fiction writing site on a favorite author’s webpage. I began to read stories others wrote, not only making some wonderful close friends from the experience, but also, really learning to write for the very first time. Here I was able to share short stories, practice my writing skills, and truly develop into a writer. More than that, the experience allowed me to revitalize my dream, as I rediscovered joy in writing.
Now, I spend my days off with my alpha male characters, quick witted heroines, and see how much trouble everyone can get into. When I’m not working or writing, I enjoy working in the garden, canning, and seeing my backyard as a living canvas for my whimsical landscaping, and, of course, reading romance novels.
