ANNOUNCEMENT: Royal Guardian, by Jo Tannah

Royal GuardianQSFer Jo Tannah has a new MM sci fi book out:

Man and dragon seek those who dared harm their prince.

Kallen has been away for two years to further his education. En route to his home planet, Oryon, his starship is attacked by unknown brigands. All fear the death of the heir to the kingdom, as well as those of his accompanying loyal guardians.

With Bobik’s assistance, Lando Garr is the one man who can find and rescue Kallen. Not because he’s bound by duty as a Royal Guardian, but because the prince’s symbiont responds to no other but him. Both will stop at nothing to find Kallen. Losing him would mean Bobik’s death and Lando’s heartache.

Excerpt

Lando’s heart thundered in his chest as he stared at the fear in Kallen’s eyes until he finally understood what he was seeing. It was fear. Fear of being rejected…of his rejection! He had been fighting against his rising attraction to the prince for years. First, because he was a prince and so much younger. Second, because he knew the prince was meant for greater things than a liaison with his guard.
Kallen was a beautiful man, and Lando had loved the little boy because he was his prince, but that love had turned into something more as the prince grew older. Lando never dreamed Kallen would return his feelings, so he’d tamped them down and sought release elsewhere.
“I’ve watched you watch me, Lando,” Kallen was saying. “For years, you’ve guarded my body. You were there when I was sick from all the medications they gave me. You were there when they declared I was dying and you replied never on your watch. You were the only one who thought of me first
when you went off-world on scientific explorations for my father and brought me presents. Not even my father gave me presents—not those that I really wanted, anyway. You were the only one who knew what I wanted. You protected me from all the doctors who wanted to take Bobik away, you showed them that Bobik was saving my life. You never thought of yourself. It was always me first.”
Lando closed his eyes. He’d been so afraid his feelings would never be reciprocated.
“I watched you, too,” Kallen continued. Lando looked up in wonderment at the prince’s violet eyes, the sign of his magic. At first, fearful of the consequences of a symbiotic relationship with a lizard, Lando had stuck protectively by Kallen’s side. As the years proved Kallen benefited from the unusual relationship, Lando had relaxed. The proximity to the prince, especially after being granted full rank as Royal Guardian two years before, made it difficult for Lando to hide his feelings.

Author Bio

Jo TannahI am a wife, mother and blogger by day, a writer by night. It can be  difficult to say the least but it is a challenge that keeps me on my toes.
I grew up listening to folk tales my father and nannies told either to entertain us children or to send home a message. These narratives I kept with me and finally, I wrote them down in a journal way back when I kept one. Going through junk led to a long forgotten box and in it was the journal. Reading over the stories of romance, science fiction and horror I had taken time to put to paper, brought to light that these were tales I never met in my readings.
The tales I write are fictional but all of them are based on what I grew up with and still dream about. That they have an M/M twist is simply for my pleasure. And I hope, yours as well.
