Excerpt
The Sorceress pulled the Necromancer’s Stone from her pocket and held it out in front of her as she waited for the souls of each of the dead to enter the Stone. One by one, bright orbs of white light began to emerge from the thick fog and flow into the emerald Death Stone. The Stone began to glow brighter with every soul that it ingested. The Sorceress smiled as the Stone came alive.
After about fifteen minutes, the last of the horrified screams came to a chilling halt. The sudden silence was horrifying, as the Village lay still. The fog began to dissipate, and the Sorceress watched as the harbinger of death emerged from the depths of the fog. Once again, she proceeded to walk past the Sorceress, without acknowledging her presence.
The Madame’s task was completed, and her purpose had been served. The last of the fog disappeared and the moon, once again, turned its face towards the silent Village.
Once the fog had cleared, Mecah stared in horror at the sight of men, woman, and children lying motionless in the streets of the Village. Some people lay at their doorsteps, while other lay embracing their loved ones, attempting to protect them from their pending doom.
Mecah began to weep at the sight of such sadness.
