The Chronicles of Darius #12
Excerpt
The creature followed behind us for some time, holding its head out as a gift, which if you look at it, is an important gift, just not one you really want. If I hadn’t been so stressed by that time, I would have realized he wanted his head back on. But I wasn’t thinking straight, my ashen complexion and trembling lips were a testimony to that.
“Go away,” Bunthar demanded, hitting his staff on the ground. Every time he did, several new cries hit the misty air.
“I’m not loving this,” I called out, trying to get away from the various creatures’ grasps.
“Well, I was,” Bunthar muttered sarcastically, “What about you, Trend?”
At the moment, Trend was pulling his cape back. He must really love his cape because I would have let them have it.
“I think I’ll vacation here,” Trend muttered before letting out several cuss words himself.
