Excerpt
A large daisy appeared in front of Suki’s face. The flower sprayed its fragrance into her nose, causing Suki to sneeze, and then immediately put her head into a sweet daze, filtering her vision with a tangerine vignette. Her limb body was now passed around between trees. She felt her clothes detach; the softness of foliage of refreshing water spilled onto her, inside her mouth and on top of her pubic bone. A stream of cold liquid entered her, awakening her senses. The branches propped her up and opened her legs wide. A small window appeared in the thick shrub, and a warming ray of sunshine rested on her body, penetrating her. Suki felt her folds open like a blooming flower. The small leaves caressed her skin in a shower of shivers, and bigger ones smacked her gently on her face, awakening her. She opened her eyes to see something she thought was a mirror: a female body suspended in the air by a living nest of branches. Suki’s eyes focused, anticipating seeing her own face, but she recognized it wasn’t hers. It was Yumi’s.
“What are you doing here, Yumi?” Suki’s voice didn’t come out as she intended. It was like stretched candy floss across the two of them, words melting before they could reach her.
Yumi’s face turned to hers. “Same thing as you. Exploring.”
