About The Book

How far is too far to go to save someone you love?

Brandon Lynch is magical. He’s a scintilla, wielder of electricity and is in love with a werewolf—or maybe he’d just in love with the idea of loving a werewolf?

Raul Fierro is a bounty hunter, professional Dom and a werewolf. He knows he loves Brandon. He’s made a promise to always protect Brandon and will carry out that promise at all costs.

When Brandon and Raul go head to head with human traffickers, Brandon’s morals are stretched to their limits. Will Raul keeping his promise tear them apart?

The Review

An intricately involved society with very imaginative and intriguing traditional and non-traditional beings forms the basis of this first of a new series by veteran Noble.

Manipulator of electricity, scintilla Brandon has trouble having sex with others for fear of zapping them unconscious or killing them. He hears about a werewolf shifter Dom in Arizona/New Mexico who’s able to work with magical beings’ powers to bring them extraordinary climaxes without harming either of them.

Using vacation time from his family business where he works in IT, Brandon travels to meet shifter Raul, where they bond during sex. Between his time as a Dom for his family’s brothel and his chosen career as a bounty hunter, Raul doesn’t have time for love and romance. Besides, he’s already mated and has produced two children. That he prefers men is irrelevant.

Still, for a few weeks after Brandon returns home, they trade texts, the memory of their bond keeping their friendship strong. Then radio silence from Brandon. When Brandon’s father reaches out to ask Raul if he knows where Brandon is, Raul is quick to agree as a hunter to search for the man, especially since Raul still has Brandon’s smell imbedded in him.

What should be quick and easy becomes a lot more complicated when Raul learns that Brandon was abducted and is being held for his unique abilities manipulating electricity. Since Brandon isn’t the only one in the world with this ability, but he the only one who can facilitate a nefarious plan, freeing him isn’t cut and dried, even for superwolf Raul.

What makes this book special is its dollops of humor and romance amid the fast and furious action. For example, scintilla, defined as spark of a specific quality or feeling, works perfectly as a description of the spark between Brandon and Raul as well as Brandon’s super power. That Raul nicknames Brandon “Sparky” is a nice touch too because the sparks do fly between them.

Since this is the first of the El Corazon series, I can’t wait to read the rest of the books that are on their way.
