Privacy Policy

This privacy policy sets out how Queer Sci Fi uses and protects any information that you give us when you use our website. We appreciate your business and care about your privacy. We only store information from you that is specifically submitted to us. We use a secure server and do not share e-mail addresses or personal information of any kind with outside companies. Your account information is password-protected for your privacy and security.

We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Generative Artificial Intelligence/LLM

Queer Sci Fi does not support the use of Generative AI as it is currently constructed. We believe that authors and artists are not being reasonably compensated for the use of their work/styles, and that this is a pervasive problem throughout the industry. We also realize that it can be hard to determine if a work (cover or text) was created using AI, and do not want to falsely accuse anyone. At this time, we are taking the interim step of asking authors to disclose if AI was used to create either the cover or the book’s text (we do not count as AI use if an author utilized a grammar checking program that may include an AI component).

During this trial, we will not refuse to announce a book that has an AI cover, though this will be clearly noted on the announcement (and on a review, if one is done). We may refuse to announce or review a book where the text was AI generated. It will depend on the extend of AI use.

As noted above, this is an interim policy and is subject to change as we learn more about the capabilities, creation, abuse of and ability to detect AI generated work. If you have any suggestions about this, please contact scott@queerscifi.com.
