QSFer Baron Frosti has a new MM paranormal story out – book two of Blood Dreams:
Peter can’t remember. Like stars twinkling out of existence at dawn, his memories fade. Only in his dreams can he see the dark, violent events that have imprisoned him for centuries. A chance encounter with a stranger named Ian leads him down a path of no return, an escape, and a chance to be free. Peter risks everything he knows – and so much he cannot recall – to quench his thirst for love and break the chains which bind him to the creature who holds the keys to his past.

Excerpt
I picked up a red leather bound book. It was smaller than most, almost hand-sized. The cover was plain with no embellishments. It smelled delightful. Like history. I opened it cautiously. The pages were dense lambskin. The interior was illustrated with colorful pictures and gold illumination. It took me a few passes to catch the story. The pictures depicted The Garden of Eden. The book showed Adam and Eve. They posed demurely and frolicked with a Medieval priest’s idea of animals of the forest. The animals had that odd, doe-eyed look given to all manner of ancient beasts. Illustrations showed the creation of the sun, the moon, and the waters. Adam and Eve had an idyllic existence petting lions and gazing upward. Near the end, the snake appeared. Eve looked up at a red fruit in a tree where the serpent coiled around a branch. The fruit appeared with a small bite taken from it. The previously sinless couple were cast out, running through a vine arbor.
The next panels showed the first couple in distress and tattered rags. Gap mouthed children cried out to them. In the end, Eve’s children, Cain and Abel had grown. Abel laid dead with a knife stuck into the side of his throat. Cane drank from a cup of Abel’s blood, red drops dripping down his face and neck. I could see why Hector was drawn to the book. I closed it and placed it on the shelf with the others.
