His best bet is to reverse the effects of the lab explosion, but how can he do that when he doesn’t know what caused it in the first place?
In the meantime Justin is gathering notches on his bedpost at an alarming rate. Will he learn that beauty is only skin deep before it’s too late?
Excerpt
Something very strange was happening to Justin. He wasn’t sure what it was, but there was no way he could put his latest discovery down to one of those things he simply hadn’t noticed.
Justin had never been inside of a gym. At school the jocks had teased him and told him he wouldn’t know the difference between a bench press and an ab crunch. They were probably right. He had never been built, never been fit, and never had the type of body other men would envy. As far as he was concerned a six-pack was something you drank with your buddies on a Friday night while eating pizza and putting off the weekend assignments—which is why he was now wondering how the hell it was he seemed to be forming one.
“Justin, are you about done in here?” Leo called out across the dorm showers, clearly impatient to get going. “We’re going to be late to meet Jess.”
Justin grabbed the shampoo from the rack and quickly lathered up his hair. “You go ahead without me. I’ll meet you in the quad.”
“You okay?” Leo’s voice was closer and Justin tried to make his own sound less panicked.
“Yeah. Just got soap in my eyes. You’d better not keep Jess waiting.”
“She’ll live.”
“But you might not.”
Leo chuckled. “Good point. I’ll wait outside for you.”
Justin waited until he heard the outer door close, quickly finished his shower and rushed to the mirrors. “Holy shit!”
He ran a hand over his chest, wondering at what he felt and saw. This was seriously weird. If he didn’t know better, he’d have thought he had grown muscles overnight. He flexed in front of the mirror. Just once was enough to freak him out. It was like looking into a mirror and seeing a stranger staring back. Everything about him was bigger. He glanced down at his crotch. Okay, not quite everything.
