About The Book

Malachite~

I have a wonderful life. I have no room to complain; between my brothers and their new mates, this is the most alive our home has felt since my parents died. Unfortunately, all of them being mated is making me miserable. When it was just the four of us, it was us against the world. Now they’re paired up and it’s only me and my dragon, Kesia. Until I happen to walk into the Overlord’s Lair and I see him: Quentin. Mine. Mate. As much as I want to win him over without telling him I’m a dragon rider and we’re mates—which I know he’d love—I’m not sure I can. The minute I’m around him I act like an idiot.

Quentin~

Every time the goofy guy walks into my store, he brightens my day, and I look forward to his daily visits. There’s just something about him that draws me to him, to the point he leaves me pining after him the moment he’s gone. But the thing is, I can tell he’s hiding something, and my wild imagination is coming up with the craziest explanations of the secrets he’s keeping. Maybe he’s a vampire that’s come to whisk me away—ridiculous, right? But a guy can dream. And I’ve definitely been dreaming of that big, muscular man wrapping me in his arms at night.

Malachite is the final book in The Brotherhood of Ormarr series. While each book focuses on a different couple, the overall story arc concludes in this installment. For maximum enjoyment, we suggest reading in order. Malachite is a m/m romance, and is recommended for adults 18 years and older.

The Review

Malachite Ormarr has alway helped his oldest sibling, Azaran, raise and train his brothers; Zale and Eeli.  Now that all of them have grown up he’s watched each one find their mate even the youngest Eeli.   He and his dragon just don’t have any idea if it will ever happen.

Quentin is the owner of an eclectic shop of treasures in Dragum’s Cove.  From prisms, gemstones to snow globes and a mysterious sword, book and antique ring.

On a visit to the strange little shop Malachite knows that Quentin is his mate.  Although Malachites dragon is eager to take Quentin home, Malachite isn’t. Watching how his three brothers met their mates, Malachite wants to do things differently.  He wants to court Quentin with flowers and lunch and really get to know him.  Unfortunately nothing seems to go as planned and a major problem always involves the Order of Amsel.  When Quentin is now in danger, Malachite has no choice but to take him home.  Quentin is a surprise not only to Malachite but the entire Ormarr family.  When it’s time for the final battle with the Order of Amsel, no one can even imagine that Quentin will become a major factor.

In reading/reviewing the entire series of “The Brotherhood of Ormarr”, I discovered a group of talented new authors and Michele Notaro and Sammi Cee wrap this series up perfectly.  This is another addition that’s a quick and easy read with danger, sweet humor, magic and dragons.  Plus, two nerdy and clumsy characters, Malachite and Quentin, but they are absolutely perfect for each other.

This chapter in the Ormarr’s lives have them facing the realization who is behind the Order of Amsel, but the Brothers Ormarr stand strong.  From the very beginning of this series I always saw this about family:  accepting, bonding with lot’s of fun, teasing, humor, understanding and love.  The “Epilogue” brings a look into the future of the Ormarr family and how it has grown, along with the many fantastic dragons that are the stars of this series.

If you love magical dragon tales start with “Azaran” and follow it with “Zale” and “Eeli”.  I still stick with my statement that “the cover art on all four of  these books is absolutely stunning and certainly tells a magical story”.

The Reviewer

Hi, I’m Maryann, I started life in New York, moved to New Hampshire and in 1965 uprooted again to Sacramento, California.  Once I retired I moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 2011 and just moved back to Sacramento in March of 2018.  My son, his wife and step-daughter flew out to Florida and we road tripped back so they got to see sights they have never seen.  New Orleans and the Grand Canyon were the highlights.

Now I am back on the west coast again to stay! From a young age Ialways liked to read.  I remember going to the library and reading the “Doctor Dolittle” books by Hugh Lofting. Much later on became a big fan of the classics, Edgar Alan Poe, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker and as time went by Agatha Christie, Ray Bradbury and Stephen Kingand many other authors. My first M/M shifter book I read was written by Jan Irving the “Uncommon Cowboys” series from 2012.  She was the first author I ever contacted and sent an email to letting her know how much I liked this series.  Sometime along the way I read “Zero to the Bone”by Jane Seville, I think just about everyone has read this book!

As it stands right now I’m really into mysteries, grit, gore and “triggers” don’t bother me.  But if a blurb peaks my interest I will read the book. My kindle collection eclectic and over three thousand books and my Audible collection is slowly growing.  I have both the kindle and audible apps on my ipod, ipads, and MAC. So there is never an excuse not to be listening or reading.

I joined Goodreads around 2012 and started posting reviews.  One day a wonderful lady, Lisa Horan of The Novel Approach, sent me an email to see if I wanted to join her review group.  Joining her site was such an eye opener.  I got introduce to so many new authors that write for the LGBTQ genre.   Needless to say, it was heart breaking when it ended.

But I found a really great site, QRI and it’s right here in Sacramento. Last year at QSAC I actually got to meet Scott Coatsworth, Amy Lane and Jeff Adams.
